This week, we’re proud to announce the latest batch of startups joining our Seattle Accelerator’s Fall cohort. With a combined funding of over $140 million, these 11 startups span AI, cloud, and IoT spaces.
4 billion people worldwide lack access to the Internet. 2 billion people are unbanked. And 1.2 billion people lack access to electricity in their homes. At the same time, rapid developments in technology – including the cloud, machine learning, artificial intelligence, low-cost smart devices, and innovations in affordable connectivity solutions have opened a clear pathway toward addressing these challenges while creating new, sustainable business models.
Microsoft’s Affordable Access Initiatives Grant Fund is calling for applications from early-stage startups from around the world who are developing solutions to the above challenges by using innovative approaches to technology. Winners receive a cash grant, access to free cloud services, and admittance to a cohort that will receive world-class mentoring and networking opportunities. “The Affordable Access Grant is another great way that Microsoft is empowering startups on their journey from entrepreneur to enterprises.” said Microsoft Accelerator General Manager, Zack Weisfeld.
